Flagstaff is Arizona’s major winter playground with over 100 inches of snowfall annually. Nearby ski areas offer Nordic and alpine skiing and the Forest Service has designated snowplay areas.
Roads can be hazardous in the winter, so it is advised to plan ahead and drive cautiously to enjoy the winter activities.
Dress warm with winter apparel including coat, hat, gloves and boots. At this high altitude the sun is more intense and you may experience fatigue and shortness of breath. Sunscreen and sunglasses are recommended.
